In a corner house on Oak Street in a small town called Landings End lived a family named the Franklins. The family consisted of five members, father, mother, son and two twin daughters. From all outside appearances a normal family in a normal sleepy town. This stories is mainly about the two twins,Jennifer and Julie. They were like two peas in a pod, each a mirror of the other,in speech, manners and looks. They were the same in another respect they each had an evil streak a mile long hidden behind a sacharin sweet fascade. They could be as nice as can be to your face and behind your back they were ready to stick in the knife. At the age they were now they had the looks and appeal to get some poor love struck teenager to do there bidding.Sweet sixteen that's what they call it but, these two demons spawn were anything but sweet.
There lastest game to fill there day was to play a sick joke on Mister Kimbel, the owner of the small corner grocery store.Mr. Kimbel was an old man way past his prime.Every year he would say to himself it was time to retire hang up the apron he always wore at the store and go do the things he always dreamed of.His health hadn't been good for a while,in the mornings it was a chore just to get out of bed.His body ached with the pains of old age.But still he made it bright and early to the store to open the doors and get ready for the days customers.
But today on arriving at the store he got a surprise, spray painted on the front of the store were the most vile and rotten words. What they said I won't repeat here but, they sent a chill down the old man's spine,in all his years of running the store he never felt fear till now.Who could write such things. He went inside got the bucket he used for cleaning, filled it with water and the strongest detergent on his shelf. He would wash away the words, make them disappear. But they wouldn't leave his mind not for along time.
The Franklin Twins weren't done with the poor old man not just yet.The two were like vultures picking at a carcass they wouldn't leave till every morsel of Mr. Kimbels spirit was devoured by there evil hunger. What was there next move? The day after the paint spray incident Mr. Kimbel came to his store and was shocked to find that a rock had been throw through his large front window. The old man heart sank as he sweeped up the glass scattered like glittering diamonds on the floor of the store.
This time he would have to call Sheriff Tom Spencer. He had been sheriff in this small town for years he would know what to do. The sheriff had arrived at the store within half a hour of being called. When the sheriff had arrived, he had just shook his bald head, and with a sour grin said",I don't know what's happening in this town, but lately there been alot of this kind of stuff going around. There's some bad element and I'm going to find it,Sam I promise you."
The sheriff collected what evidence he could and left. The next day Sam Kimbel dreaded even going to the store he once loved. It now to him became a burden but, he vowed to himself he wasn't going to let the bastards win,not while he had a breath in his lungs.Today after he entered he saw the smashed bottle's of milk ,empty beer cans littering the floor ,and even the smell of urine was in the air. These's animals he thought to himself as tears ran down his cheeks.
Then an anger started burning in his heart ,he would install alarms, that he thought he would never need, get a dog a mean son of bitch, and a gun. He was going to go down fighting. In his his younger days he had been a soldier .Old soldiers never die. All the memory and skills he thought he'd never use again were coming back to him.Tomorrow would be different. He decided to stay the night at store and hide.He had bought a gun today, a shotgun he now cradled in his arms like it was some lost love.He had a slight mad gleam in his eyes. The Franklin girl's had made one fatal mistake they never counted on the old man having a backbone. They only saw him as an old feeble man, weak, and tired. But what they did caused a fire to burn in the old mans soul. They had pushed him over a line better not crossed and they would now have to pay the price. On his vigil he had fallen asleep ,but as a crash shattered the quite. He was jolted out of his slumber. The shotgun which lain at his side was quickly picked up.As a shadow enter his line of sight he raised the gun and aimed and fired. The echos of shot and the screams of a young girl ripped through the air.He quickly turned on the lights, laying in a puddle of blood was Julie Franklin,Jennifer over the body crying .She had died instantly after being struck in the head.
The old man picked up the phone and called sheriff and, told him what happened. The sheriff told him he'd be right over and not to worry. He told him he didn't do anything wrong just protect what was his. After the sheriff had arrived Jennifer Franklin was placed in hand cuffs and lead to an awaitng police car .As she entered the car she screamed ",I'll get you old man."The old man just laughed and Said,"you already did."Sam Kimbel had changed and would never be the same again.
